Thirty shareholder association members visit a 100% green energy plant
On September 7, 2010, some thirty members of Belgian and French shareholder associations visited the Libramont factory in Belgium, the group’s first 100% green energy plant.
The guests spent the day finding out about the manufacture and packaging of hair colourant products, such as Casting Crème Gloss and Excellence by L’Oréal Paris, aerosols such as Elnett hair lacquer, and hair styling products. They also visited the new biomethanisation centre, whose facilities convert biomass from local farmers and the food industry into methane. Thanks to this technology, the plant produces more electricity than it needs, and the surplus (equivalent to the needs of some 4,000 households) is managed by the national grid.
