L'Oréal recognised for its commitment to gender equality at top management level
Clichy, 20 November 2017 - For the 5th edition of the "Palmarès de la féminisation des instances dirigeantes des grandes entreprises françaises", L'Oréal received the second Prize during a ceremony attended by Marlène Schiappa, French Minister of State for Gender Equality, attached to the Prime Minister.
Carried out by Ethics & Boards, Observatory of the Governance of Listed Companies, the ranking measures the gender diversity of boards and executives of the 120 companies listed in the SBF 120 index. This takes into account women's representation within their leadership structures. Over the past 5 years, L'Oréal has consistently been making progress in this ranking. It is ranked second in total, and first among CAC 40 companies. The prize awarded to the Group comes as the result of a dynamic policy to promote gender equality at the highest level of the company.
L'Oréal has a long-standing commitment to gender equality in the 140 countries where it is present, and at every level of the company. Worldwide, as of 2016, women represent 70% of total workforce, 46% of the Board of Directors, 33% of the Executive Committee and 48% of the Management committees.
This year, four special prizes were also awarded during this ceremony and L'Oréal received the Award for Gender Equality in its Executive Committees.
Jean-Paul Agon, Chairman and CEO of L'Oréal, said: "These two awards recognize L'Oréal's long-standing commitment to equality between men and women at all levels of the company, and notably in our executive committees. They encourage us to pursue our efforts to advance gender equality within our company."
