L'Oréal has been granted the 2010 Annual General Meeting Award by Capitalcom
The Annual General Meeting Award, for companies listed in the French CAC 40 index, has been granted this year to L'Oréal. The award honours the company that proved to be the most in line with more than 80 criteria, based around 10 key themes, including the pedagogical nature of the speeches, the relevant manner in which the results were presented, corporate governance and the quality of debate. According to the study carried out by Capitalcom in partnership with the law firm DLA Piper, the principle strong points of L'Oréal's Annual General Meeting lay in the presentation of the group's business model, the integration of sustainable development at the heart of its strategy, and the clear presentation of the way in which the Board of Directors is composed and operates.
At the award ceremony on Wednesday, June 30, Jean-Paul Agon stated, "After 2009, which was marked by a crisis environment, we felt it essential to explain the group's vision - the L'Oréal project - and to illustrate the strategy that we are putting in place, thereby demonstrating why we are at the eve of a new phase of expansion for the group. Along with Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones, we also felt that it was most important to provide a very pedagogical explanation of our corporate governance, the work of the Board of Directors and its different Committees. Lastly, we felt that is was essential to include our sincere commitment to sustainable development".
