Professional haircare transitions to green

To cater for the long-term naturalness trend, the brands are reinventing themselves to offer natural, ethical and environmentally-friendly products.

The development of natural professional haircare products has been much awaited on the market . Because in addition to their environmental concerns, consumers are, more than ever, unwilling to make concessions on performance and results at the salon. L’Oréal is a pioneer in this field, with environmentally-friendly products like those by Biolage R.A.W. (Real. Authentic. Wholesome.), which won an Allure Award in the United States. The Group also continues to multiply initiatives to incite consumers and hairdressers to adopt green habits.

L’Oréal Professionnel is moving in this direction with the launch of Source Essentielle, a vegan formula available in salons and made of 80% to 100% ingredients of natural origin. The range was designed to achieve a very small environmental footprint. The products can be stacked without point-of-sale display materials thanks to their square shape, which optimises transport and packing. Their packaging can be placed directly in salon windows, helping to win over eco-conscious consumers, who can then return to the salon to refill their products at the shampoo bar: a big hit with hairdressers and a service that is available in 70% of salons that sell Source Essentielle.

Botanéa: 100% herbal hair colour

Another major revolution is 100% herbal hair colour Botanéa. Ancestral hair colour savoir-faire with natural pigments has been updated and brought into the world of professional hair colour thanks to this disruptive product, which guarantees predictable, high-quality performance and results, as L’Oréal Professionnel International General Manager Marion Brunet explains.
